In Teton Valley we work hard, live hard, play hard. Let’s face it, sometimes too hard.

Accidents and emergencies happen and the Teton Valley Health Care’s (TVHC) Emergency
Department is here to keep you living well.

At TVHC we have expertise in critical and trauma care, and hold special certifications (Level IV Trauma Center, STEMI II and STROKE III), that are impressive for a rural Critical Access Hospital.

Our Emergency Department Team is comprised of Board-Certified Emergency Physicians, A Family Practice Physician, and A Nurse Practitioner with emergency expertise, on call 24/7.

The unique landscape of our Valley requires us to be well prepared for the trauma it can produce.

  • Open 24/7, 365 days a year

LEVEL IV TRAUMA CENTER

Our Board-Certified Emergency Department physicians and staff have specialized skills to evaluate, stabilize and treat patients, and evaluate if transport is required to a higher-level facility for more comprehensive care.

STEMI II STROKE III CENTER

This certification demonstrates our commitment to a higher standard of cardiac care, to improving patient outcomes, and creating a better continuum of care. As a result, TVHC provides high quality care for trauma, stroke, and STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction, a type of heart attack with a higher degree of seriousness, complications and risk) patients in our region.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE

We hope you do not need us, but if you do we are here 24/7 and 365 days a year. If you require a higher level of trauma care than we can provide, we will arrange safe transport for you to another facility by ground ambulance or with Air Methods medical flight transport.

If you drive or are driven by car, please come to the Emergency Entrance located at 120 E. Howard St. If you need assistance, we will help you in. We will ask you questions about your condition and the severity, medical history, and your name, address, insurance coverage if any and ask that you sign a consent for treatment.

YOUR CARE

We have compassionate and skilled emergency staff and Board-Certified Emergency Physicians, with special certifications including Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Additional tests, consultations and procedures may be ordered, but we will explain your required treatment.

Through telemedicine, we bring additional expertise to your medical team from Intermountain Healthcare and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for issues such as stroke, burns, infectious diseases, oncology, and mental health.
