Community Outreach
Health & Wellness Education
- Prenatal & Childbirth Classes educate parents
on healthy pregnancy and birthing techniques. A refresher course
is also available. Quarterly sessions are held Monday evenings
from 6-8:30 pm in January, April, July and October.
- Diabetic Self Management Education assists diabetics
and families in blood sugar control and healthy lifestyles. Individual
counseling available upon request. Coordinator Lisa Grutzmacher,
R.N.
- Tobacco Cessation provides the tools to successfully
quit tobacco through an informal group setting. Funded by District
VII Health Department, the classes are offered at no charge each
Spring and Fall by Instructor Lisa Grutzmacher, R.N. Individual
counseling available upon request.
- Heartsaver CPR Courses available
to the community for times four times throughout the year. Extra
classes available upon request. Extra classes available upon request.

Social Services
- Bilingual Services Translation and interpretation assists hospital patients and families.
- Caring from the Heart Chaplaincy Program Volunteer chaplains are available in the hospital 24 hours daily to provide spiritual support to patients, families and staff.
- Baby Track Immunization reminder system helps parents track baby's upcoming immunizations.
